Department of Economics, East West University organized an “International Conference on Business, Education, Economics and Social Sciences (ICBEESS-2018)” in its premise on January 25, 2018. In day one of the two-day conference, prominent researchers of 40 different institutions from 8 countries presented their research papers. 10 sessions took place simultaneously in the S. M. Nousher Ali Lecture Gallery and Lecture Gallery- 242, and 2 Panel discussion sessions on “Higher Education” and “Blue Economy” took place at the Faculty Lounge chaired by Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, Chairperson, Board of Trustees, East West University and Dr. Dipu Moni, Member of Parliament, respectively. Professor Abdul Mannan, Chairman, University Grants Commission of Bangladesh, Professor M. M. Shahidul Hassan, Vice Chancellor, East West University, Professor Dr. Fakrul Alam, Pro Vice Chancellor, East West University, Professor Dr. Syed Ferhat Anwar and Professor Dr. A. K. Enamul Haque were present at the Panel discussion sessions.

Distinguished Professors from various academic institutions also attended the conference.
