I am currently working as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Economics at East West University (EWU), Dhaka, Bangladesh. Before joining EWU, I worked as a Research Associate, under the supervision of Dr. Debapriya Bhattacharya, at the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) for more than two years.
I earned my thesis-based Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Calgary, Canada in June 2018. I did my Master’s thesis, titled, “Business Cycles and Hydrocarbon Gas Liquids Prices”, under the guidance of Professor Apostolos Serletis. Prior to this, I completed my Bachelor (BSS honors) followed by a thesis-based Master’s degree (both with distinction) from the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet, Bangladesh. In my academic career, I have received a number of awards, including the University of Calgary Graduate Scholarship, Anton and Dalgarno Memorial Graduate Scholarship, and UGC Prime Minister Gold Medal.
I have both qualitative and quantitative research experiences in different fields of Economics, e.g., Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Quality of Education, Labour and Health Economics, Financial and Energy Economics. My research articles have been published in different national and international Scopus journals, including, the Journal of Economic Asymmetries- Elsevier and BMC Health Services Research.
I have also been an enlisted News Presenter in Bangladesh Betar since 2008. I achieved hundreds of awards in co-curricular activities including Gold Medal in reciting Bengali Poetry at the National Children Award Competition, 2004 organized by the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, Bangladesh.
