A round table discussion on 'Curriculum Development of MBA and EMBA Programs of East West University

The MBA and EMBA Programs, Department of Business Administration, East West University organized a round table discussion with few selected Alumni of the program who are placed in top executive positions of various reputed organizations of the country on formation of a core group for focus group discussion on curriculum development and overall MBA and EMBA program development on 28 September 2024 at 5 pm at MBA Conference Room, MBA Office, East West University, chaired by Professor Shams Rahman, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of East West University.

The event was also attended by Professor Dr. Anup Chowdhury, Dean, Faculty of Business & Economics Professor, Dr. Tanbir Ahmed Chowdhury, Professor, Department of Business Administration, Dr. Abul H. M. G. Azam Professor-cum-Adviser, Department of Business Administration and Dr. M Sayeed Alam, Coordinator MBA and EMBA Program and Mr. Omar Faruq, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration, East West University.

In the roundtable, participants primarily highlighted the ultimate importance of EWU MBA and EMBA Program’s networking opportunities with alumni through use of social media like Facebook and Linkedin pages and creating a common platform for sharing updated contact information. Many emphasized the value of ongoing relationships with alumni with current students and faculty members, noting that holding reunions, open house events to share their experience of real-world applications of their MBA skills attained at EWU MBA/EMBA, annual gala collaborating fresh graduates were particularly beneficial.

Feedback indicated a desire for more affiliation and strengthening relations with corporate houses to avail internship and career opportunities and forming a core group comprising of recent graduates to mobilize more alumni to create not only a formal committee but also spinning off a multiplier marketing effect and promotion of enriched alumni base. Moreover, engaging recent graduates to take the lead of creating interactive sessions and workshops to further enhance learning and collaboration such as appointing batch coordinators for each batch of graduates would prove to be fruitful. Overall, alumni appreciated the event's focus on practical insights and professional development.
