EWU MBA Club Visits Picard Bangladesh Ltd.
On November 23, 2024, the EWU MBA Club organized an industrial visit to Picard Bangladesh Ltd., a 100% export-oriented company specializing in leather goods such as handbags, ladies' bags, purses, cardholders, and other related products. The visit was held at their production facility in Ashulia, Savar, and their corporate office. A group of students, led by Dr. Md. Atiqur Rahman Sarker, Associate Professor in the Department of Business Administration, participated in the event.
Mr. Shafiqur Rahman Gazi, Sr. Manager, HR&Admin, Mr. Sayem Molla, Sr. Manager of HR & Compliance, Mr. Farid Uddin Ahmed, Manager of Compliance, and many other important individuals from Picard Bangladesh Ltd. were present during the session, where they provided an overall view both virtually and in person. ILO National Consultant (Better Work Bangladesh) Mr. Syfur Rahman Farhan also accompanied the team for briefing and corporate networking.
The visit began with a formal introductory session at the corporate office, where students learned about the company’s history, vision, operational activities, and human resource management strategies. Picard Bangladesh’s dedication to excellence in both production and employee welfare was highlighted during the session, giving students a deeper understanding of the company’s approach to business and its role in the leather goods industry.
After the introductory session, the group toured the 8-story production facility. The students witnessed the complete manufacturing process, from the cutting of raw leather to the creation of the final finished products. Senior professionals from Picard guided the group through each stage of production, offering insights into the efficiency and quality control processes that make Picard a leader in the industry.
