As part of the International Marketing (MKT 408) course, the Department of Business Administration at East West University organized a study tour for 70 students to Akij Bakers Ltd., a subsidiary of Akij Group, located in Tongi. Akij Bakers Ltd. is one of the largest and most advanced factories in Bangladesh. On July 19, 2025, students had the opportunity to observe the inner workings of the factory, witnessing the management of a large workforce across various segments. The tour was led by Mr. Reaz Hafiz, a Senior Lecturer from the department, who accompanied the students.

The students received a warm welcome and were briefed about Akij Bakers by the company's management and officials during an introductory session. This was followed by a tour of the different production units within the factory, including the biscuit production unit, cake production unit, bread production unit, and chips and wafer production units. Through this visit, students gained practical experience with various production systems, including some automated and semi-automated mass production systems and automated packaging processes.

The students displayed their curiosity and enthusiasm by actively participating and posing numerous questions during the Q&A session. The officials, unit managers, and the CMO of the factory were eager and thorough in answering all the students' questions. This tour provided the students with a valuable reality check and exposure to contemporary work practices in modern factories. Additionally, Akij Bakers organized an outdoor gaming session for the students, and in the evening, they enjoyed snacks and a photoshoot at the rooftop garden, which was well-received and appreciated by the students.
