The Silent Strugglers: Navigating Academic Stress, Mental Health, and Living a Healthy Life - Seminar at East West University

On 4th August 2025, the Department of Business Administration (DBA) at East West University (EWU) organized seminar titled "The Silent Strugglers: Navigating Academic Stress, Mental Health, and Living a Healthy Life." The seminar aimed to equip students with practical strategies for managing stress, boosting productivity, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle during this critical academic period. The seminar was also part of HRM-301 (Human Resource Management) course content, Work Life Balance.

The seminar, held in Room FUB402 from 3:10 PM to 3:40 PM, was led by Dr. Maleeha Sheefa, a Consultant for Routine Immunization Coverage and Equity at UNICEF, USA. Dr. Sheefa shared valuable insights into coping with academic stress, fostering mental health, and maintaining a balanced lifestyle, which are essential for students facing the pressures of the upcoming exams.

The session covered several important areas, including how to manage stress during exams, the importance of recognizing daily achievements, overcoming procrastination, and boosting productivity through effective time management. Dr. Sheefa also discussed the significance of life planning to reduce stress, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and nurturing the mind-body connection for overall well-being during the academic period.

The Department of Business Administration expresses its gratitude to Dr. Sheefa for her leadership and all participants for their engagement. This seminar reaffirmed East West University’s commitment to supporting students' mental health and academic success, particularly in preparation for assignment, term paper, mid-term, quiz and final exams.
