Online Guest Lecture Session on "Promoting Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: Perspectives, and Experiences"

The HRM Discipline under the Department of Business Administration organized an online guest lecture session for the students of the following courses – HRM 301, HRM 411, HRM 413 and HRM 501, on August 2, 2026, through Zoom platform. The session titled "Promoting Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: Perspectives, and Experiences" was conducted by Dr. Sardana Khan, Lecturer and Researcher, School of Management, RMIT University, Australia. During the session, Dr. Sardana discussed Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) & highlighted how goals such as gender equality connects to organizational DEI practices. Dr. Sardana also presented the theoretical foundations of DEI which includes Social Exchange Theory, Inclusive Leadership Theory, Cultural Identity Theory etc. She further explained how female leader perceived cultural identity which shapes their DEI perception, confidence and active promotion. This session helped students understand how DEI perspectives influenced leadership behaviour in real organizational settings. Associate Professor Dr. Rumana Afroze, Dr. Md. Atiqur Rahman Sarker and other faculty members  Laila Zaman, Tamanna Parvin Eva, Abdullah Al Sayed and Shabiha Afrin Sharna from HRM discipline were present at the online guest lecture session.
