EWU Department of Business Administration Hosts Seminar on Positive Thinking for Work & Life Balance
The East West University Department of Business Administration hosted a seminar on “Impact of Positive Thinking on Professional Life” on Tuesday 20th January, 2026 from 3:10 to 6:10 pm at the university campus.
At 3:10 pm, the esteemed guests Mr. Tareq Siddiquee, FAVP & Brance Manager, Bangladesh Commerce Bank Limited, Ms. Arifa Begum, Greenpreneur, Owner of Sotej and Ms. Rashida Rahman, Freelance Corporate Trainer and Former Banker, Ardentier, Quantum Foundation, Meditation & Yoga Instructor, Shito-Ryu karate instructor, karate black belt, 1st DAN, BKF arrived in EWU campus at Lecture Gallery of Room-354.
The seminar provided insights to the students on how positive thinking and calmness affects individual for work life balance and enhanced employee job performance. At the same time, it also emphasized how these create confidence into employees that enable them to excel in their work and high growth with career prospects.
Ms. Arifa Begum, the owner of Sotej shared her experience on how she created her business from scratch and also stated how entrepreneurship can make our country a better Bangladesh. She emphasized how each student should have a side business during their study life and start practicing entrepreneurial activities while studying business.
On the other hand, Ms. Rashida Rahman showed the students how to be positive despite all trouble in life. She emphasized the importance of mental and physical health and how to keep them both sound and balanced. She also showed the students how to maintain proper work and life balance. Lastly, she showed how to meditate, and all the students practiced meditation with her as part of employee wellbeing program which is commonly known as Employee Assistance Program (EAP) in Human Resource Management. Mr. Siddiquee spoke with students individually and gave career related advice.
The students freely asked questions to the guests and enjoyed the seminar.
The Department of Business Administration of East West University hopes to create more seminars, workshops and webinars for the students so that they can achieve excellence.
