DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION, EWU HAS SUCCESSFULLY ORGANIZED THE SEVENTH SESSION OF THE RESEARCH INFOCUS
Department of Business Administration, East West University has organized the fourth session of the Research InFocus on 17th July 2025 in the BBA seminar room. A research paper titled “Why do microfinance institutions charge higher interest rates than banks? The role of operating costs” was presented in this session by Dr. Shabiha Akter, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration. Dr. Akter completed her PhD at Taylor’s University, Malaysia, under the Taylor’s University PhD Research Scholarship. During her doctoral studies, she also worked as a tutor for three years at the same institution. Prior to her PhD, she earned both her Master's and undergraduate degrees from the Department of Finance & Banking at Rajshahi University, Bangladesh. Dr. Akter’s research interests encompass areas such as microfinance, banking, financial inclusion, economic development, the efficiency and stability of financial institutions, development finance, and financial sustainability.All the faculty members, were present at the event.
