The Department of Business Administration of East West University welcomes guest speakers from various industries and professional fields to share their knowledge and experiences with our students. The key objective of inviting experts is to provide students a practical insight into the real-life organization and to improve their comprehension in blending theory with practices.

A lecture session was conducted by Mr. Shah Mohammad Didarul Hasan, for the students of Brand Management course (MKT416), on October 20, 2019. Mr. Hasan is currently working as Senior Manager of Brand Marketing at M.M. Ispahani Limited. He shared his job experiences with the students and answered their questions. Faculty members of the course Mr. Md. Anamul Hoque and Dr. Md. Abdul Momen were present at the session.

Mr. M Abdur Raquib, Head of Operations in Partex Star Group had happily delivered speech for the students of Production Operations Management course (MGT337). On October 28, 2019, in presence of the faculty members Mr. M. Sayeed Alam and Ms. Kaniz Fatima, the lecture session was arranged in a classroom. Mr. Raquib shared his vast knowledge and job experiences regarding production and operation management with the students.

On November 5, 2019, a lecture session on “Industrial Relations and Labor Law” was delivered by Mr. Swapan K. G. Magumder, ACS, for the participants of Industrial Relations and Labor Law course (HRM413). Mr. Magumder is currently working as General Manager, Head of HR & Corporate Affairs in Ha-Meem Group. He shared his extensive experiences in HR field, particularly on industrial relations and labor law, with the students. Faculty members, Mr. Omar Faruq and Dr. Rumana Afroze, from the Department were present.

To share broad ideas about investment issues and environment, reviewing  financial products, understanding the mechanism of stock exchanges, portfolio construction, and measuring portfolio performances, a lecture session was arranged for the students of Investment Analysis and Management course (FIN425) on November 12, 2019. Mr. Sherief M. A. Rahman, who is the CEO of BRAC-EPL Stock Brokerage Limited, was the keynote speaker. He shared his varied and vivid experiences in the field with the students. He spoke on how a Brokerage Company operates. Faculty members of the department, Mr. Leo Vashkar Dewari, and Ms. Naharin Binte Rab attended the session.

Dr. Farhana Ferdousi, Associate Professor and Chairperson of the department invited Mr. Md. Khaledul Hasan, who is the Head of Commercial Planning in Banglalink to share knowledge about how to formulate policies, analyze and implement policies from a company perspective. Mr. Hasan shared valuable experiences of working in a giant telecom company with the students of the Strategic Management course (MGT480). He talked about the implementation of strategic management concepts and challenges.

Another lecture session was conducted by Mr. Abdul Hannan Khan, the SEVP & Company Secretary of Social Islami Bank Limited, for the students of Compensation Management course (HRM412). On November 21, 2019, he shared his practical experiences with the students and answered their queries. Instructors of the mentioned course, Ms. Laila Zaman and Ms. Tamanna Parvin were present at the session to help students to relate the speech of the keynote speaker with the course syllabus.

To give students detailed knowledge regarding decision support systems, Mr. Rashedul Hassan, course instructor of Decision Support Systems course (MIS415), arranged a lecture session for the students on November 30, 2019. Mr. Ashraful Islam Bhuiyan, the Deputy Manager of Sales & Operations Planning in Lafarge Holcim Bangladesh Ltd., shared his practical experiences with the students about how to utilize DSS capacities to support different types of decisions. Another speaker, Mr. Kazi Sadman Ahmed, who is working as Cloud Solution Architect in InNeed Cloud, discussed the relationship of computer-based information systems and demonstration of DSS development approaches.
