EWU and Green Delta Insurance Company Limited signed a MoU

East West University (EWU) and Green Delta Insurance Company Limited (GDIC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at EWU campus on Thursday, 26 January 2016. The prime goal of this MoU will be to promote MBA/EMBA major in ‘Insurance and Risk Management’ program at East West University.

Under this collaborative agreement, GDIC will provide scholarships to a number of meritorious MBA/EMBA students for doing their major in ‘Insurance and Risk Management’ and will offer internship opportunities to deserving EWU graduates. EWU and GDIC will work together to build insurance and health awareness among students along with motivating students to choose insurance industry as their career path. In achieving such agenda, both the parties will jointly organize seminars/workshops, training programs, roadshows etc. In addition, GDIC will extend their support by providing resource persons for the major courses in ‘Insurance and Risk Management’ that will allow students to get the hands-on learning experience.

Professor Dr. M. M. Shahidul Hassan, Vice Chancellor of EWU and Ms. Farzana Chowdhury, Managing Director & CEO of GDIC and Chartered Insurer, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations.

The EWU team was also represented by Professor Dr. Tanbir Ahmed Chowdhury, Dean, Faculty of Business & Economics; Professor Dr. Mahfuzul Hoque, Advisor, MBA & EMBA Programs; Professor Dr. Anup Chowdhury, Chairperson, Department of Business Administration; and Dr. Jashim Uddin, Associate Professor & Coordinator, MBA & EMBA Programs.

Managing Director & CEO of Green Delta Insurance was accompanied by Senior Consultant Mr. A S A Muiz; Additional Managing Director & CFO Mr. Nazim Tazik Chowdhury; Deputy Managing Director Mr. Wafi S M Khan; Senior Executive Director Papia Rahman ACII (UK) and other high officials at this ceremony.

After signing the MoU, the event became gracefully brightened when Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, Chairperson, Board of Trustees, EWU, courteously conveyed good wishes to both the parties with his kind presence for a couple of minutes.
