Mr. Sabbir Zaman, Deputy Manager of Sumitomo Corporation was invited as guest speaker for International Marketing course in East West University to share his experiences in international business. Mr. Zaman has successful track record of international trades and development of mega projects in power & infrastructure sector in Bangladesh. The objective was to give an idea about how a merchant should conduct business internationally.  

Mr. Zaman shared his experience on project portfolio management and finance model of an infrastructure projects. Various lending facilities from international banks and development organizations such as World Bank (WB), Asian Development Bank (ADB), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) etc. were discussed in the session. Students got understanding about Official Development Assistance (ODA), Export Credit Assistance (ECA) and commercial lending and various criteria to be complied with in order to get funding from international finance organizations. Overall, it was a successful session and opened a new avenue of international business and marketing to the students who had participated.
