On May 4, 2025, the Department of Business Administration at East West University conducted a seminar as part of the HRM 418 (Job Analysis and Performance Appraisal) course. The session, titled “Job Analysis and Performance Appraisal: Linking Structure with Strategy in HR Practice,” was facilitated by Mr. Ishfaqur Rahman, Talent Acquisition Senior Specialist & HRBP at Banglalink Digital Communications Ltd. The event took place in Room 225 and was attended by Assistant Professor Laila Zaman and her students. The seminar provided a platform for bridging academic content with professional practice, offering students a firsthand understanding of HR functions from an industry perspective.
During the session, Mr. Rahman provided students with valuable practical insights into the significance of job analysis in organizational settings. He shared a real-world job analysis questionnaire and demonstrated how systematically gathering job-related data helps define roles, clarify responsibilities, and identify essential competencies. He further explained the strong connection between job analysis and performance appraisal—emphasizing that accurate job descriptions serve as a foundation for fair and effective employee evaluations.
By illustrating the application of these core HR functions in corporate practice, the seminar helped students bridge theoretical knowledge with real-world HR strategies—equipping them with a deeper understanding of how structured processes contribute to effective workforce management in today’s dynamic business environment.
