Guest Lecture Session on “Human Resource Policies and Practices in the Corporate World

On April 5, 2026, Ms. Tamanna Parvin Eva, Senior Lecturer of the Department of the Business Administration, organized an insightful session titled “Human Resource Policies and Practices in the Corporate World” for the students of Human Resource Planning (HRM411).  The session was graced by the esteemed speaker, Mr.Iskander Mirza, Division Head of HR, Anwar Group of Industries. Mr. Mirza is an accomplished HR leader with over 16 years of experience in organizational development, talent management and policy formulation across leading corporate groups in Bangladesh. Previously, he worked with Navana Group as Lead HR and Head of Talent Management, also he has been recognized with prestigious honors such as the Mastermind of Strategic Excellence 2024 and Service Excellence Award 2025. In the session, Faculty Members, Senior Lecturer, Abdullah Al Sayed, Senior Lecturer, Shabiha Afrin Sharna and Lecturer, Fairose Farin from the Department were present.

During the session, the speaker shared valuable insights into the core functions of Human Resource Management and their impact on organizational effectiveness. In discussing compensation and benefits, he noted that a well-structured salary system, along with employee recognition and growth opportunities, plays a crucial role in retention. The session also underscored the significance of employee engagement, where organizational culture and leadership behavior directly influence productivity, and employees are more likely to leave managers rather than companies. Overall, the discussion provided a practical understanding of how integrated HR practices contribute to sustainable corporate success. The event aimed to provide students with practical insights into how effective HR strategies influence organizational success. Through real-world perspectives, the session highlighted the importance of structured policies, workplace culture and strategic decision- making in shaping both individual and organizational outcomes.
