May Day Discussion at EWU

The May Day discussion held on May 7th 2024, in Lecture Gallery 550 was a poignant tribute to the International Workers' Day, organized by the Department of Business Administration, EWU. The event commenced with a spirited discussion on labor rights, accompanied by enlightening video clips that underscored the challenges faced by workers. Through impactful documentaries, attendees gained insights into significant labor incidents such as the Rana Plaza tragedy and the enduring struggle of Bhopal Gas Tragedy survivors. Dr. Bhupen Hazarika's lyrical tribute, "Manush Manusher Jannya," resonated deeply, emphasizing the inherent dignity of humanity. The session also featured the heartwarming short film "Idli Amma," highlighting the resilience of workers in the face of adversity, followed by a soul-stirring musical performance, "Tumi Ki Dekhecho". Additionally, a charitable aspect was incorporated, where students generously donated free water bottles to the needy, exemplifying the spirit of compassion and solidarity. The event concluded with a renewed commitment to advocate for the rights and welfare of workers, fostering a sense of unity and purpose among attendees. The May Day Discussion was part of HRM-413 course moderated by Assistant Professor Dr. Md. Atiqur Rahman Sarker.
