Short Biography

Dr. Islam holds a Ph.D. from Dongbei University of Finance and Economics (DUFE). Before his Ph.D., he successfully graduated with a Master of Science from the University of Huddersfield, United Kingdom. Dr. Islam also completed his B.B.A and an M.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh with distinction, where he obtained a Gold Medal for securing the highest marks in the Department of Accounting and Faculty of Business Studies in the MBA examination. He has been working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Business administration at East-West University, Dhaka, Bangladesh since 2016 and has recently been promoted to Associate Professor. While studying Ph.D. at DUFE Dr. Islam scored about 90% marks on average in coursework and an Excellent Thesis Review from the anonymous reviewers. So far he published 23 articles in the internationally ranked journal including SSCI, ESCI, SCOPUS, and ABDC. Understanding the importance, significance, and need of financial flexibility he endeavors to study “how corporate governance and earnings quality effect financial flexibility” in Ph.D. research, and utilize them as a useful approach to achieving financial flexibility.
