Kamrul Ahsan, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Supply Chain Management at RMIT University, with a distinguished record in research, teaching, higher degree research (HDR) supervision, and academic leadership. He is a leading researcher in sustainable supply chains, reverse logistics, digital supply chains, and project and supply chain skills and competencies, as well as digital teaching and learning. He has a strong and sustained publication record in top-tier journals. His research has informed policy development in areas such as sustainable supply chains, development projects, and digital and lifelong learning, and has helped shape evolving skill requirements for supply chain and project management professionals. He has published in leading academic journals such as Transportation Research Part E, International Journal of Project Management, International Journal of Logistics Management, International Journal of Physical Distribution and Logistics Management, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, Journal of Business Research, and Journal of Environmental Management. His work has been featured on key industry platforms, including MHD Supply Chain Solutions, the Project Management Institute (PMI) Resource Library, and the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM). He received the Project Management Institute (PMI) New Zealand Research Achievement Award in 2011. In recognition of his extensive experience in PhD supervision, he was awarded the College of Business Excellence in Research Supervision Award at RMIT in 2025. His industry-engaged research includes leading project funded by Reliable, Affordable, Clean Energy (RACE) 2030, Australia Since 2003, he has taught supply chain, project, and operations management across international settings and has held leadership roles in program administration, curriculum development, and course coordination. In recognition of his contributions to teaching, he received the 2024 Teaching Excellence Award from the School of Accounting, Information Systems, and Supply Chain (AISSC) at RMIT. A/Prof Ahsan has worked across diverse cultural and institutional contexts, holding academic positions at Victoria University (Melbourne), Auckland University of Technology (New Zealand), KIMEP University (Kazakhstan), and BUET (Bangladesh). He has also held visiting research positions at the University of Missouri–St. Louis (USA) and the Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand).
