Born in 1961 at Shariatpur, a southern district of Bangladesh. Graduated in engineering from IIT, Kharagpur and then did MBA from the University of Dhaka. Also attended two PGT in the UK. Teaching at East West University for the last 16 years. Total number of teaching years is 22 years. Before joining teaching, worked for a number of organizations, in the domain of training, first as a trainer than as a training manager. A known poet and writer in the literary circle of Bangladesh. Have published 14 books of poems, one book of short stories, one book of essays and 4 travelogues. Translated two books of poems and edited one anthology of poems. Attended a number of training courses home and abroad. Father of 4 university going children. Lives in Dhaka with spouse and children.
